Balmoor manager Jim McInally said: “Airdrie away is a very tough opening fixture and sets the tone for what will be a challenging season on the road. We have more away fixtures than home ones and the grounds that we go twice to are all teams who will expect to be in the top half so we will have to be strong on the road.”

“We lost 2-1 at Airdrie just before Christmas last year however it was a game that we could have actually one.”

“We lost an early goal and then a soft penalty but came roaring back into the game through a Scott Brown goal and had plenty of chances in the second half.”

“A lot has happened since that game and both sides will have different line-ups but we will go there and look to get off to a positive start.”
