Peterhead Football Club chairman Rodger Morrison admits that he is proud of the backing that supporters of the club have given the Super 50/ 50 draw.
The fund raising initiative was launched to help the Balmoor club deal with the impact of the Coronavirus and with nearly £30,000 worth of tickets sold Rodger is delighted to pass on his thanks especially as local charity, Friends of Anchor, is also benefiting.
The Blue Toon Chief said: “We knew that we had to do something to help the financial situation caused by a lack of games and Balmoor not being open to the public during the week. We were not sure how the Super 50/50 draw would go but I am really proud of the reaction to it. Our fans have backed it as have sponsors as well as the management team of Jim McInally and David Nicholls and the players.”
“There are three terrific prizes available and there will be a lot of interest in the draw this weekend and I would like to thank everyone for that. There are still a couple of days left so the total could rise even higher which is amazing especially as Friends of Anchor will receive a donation of 10% of the total from the directors of the club.”
Rodger added: “My thanks go to everyone who has backed us at this time.”
