Peterhead’s squad for the new season will have some familiar faces after seven players confirmed that they would be returning.
Goalkeeper Lenny Wilson has followed experienced striker Derek Lyle in agreeing a return with defender Jason Brown re-signing along with midfielders Gary Fraser, Andrew McCarthy and Ryan Conroy along with striker Ben Armour.
Manager Jim McInally has praised the players for their flexibility as some have agreed to come back to the club despite reduced terms caused by the Coronavirus crisis as he explained: “The players are coming back as they want to play for Peterhead. They could have held out for better money elsewhere however they want to do well for this club and that is why they are back.”
“For some of them it is a huge season coming up. It is a season where they can move from being on the fringes of our team to becoming established senior professionals.”
“We will help them all we can to do that.”
New signing Isaac Layne and the already signed Simon Ferry, Alan Cook, Steven Boyd and Aidan Smith take the squad up to 12 with McInally saying: “We will need to get more bodies in and we are working on that.”
