Peterhead manager Jim McInally was pleased with his side as they completed their pre-season games with a 6-0 success over Junior side Dundee North End.

The Blue Toon had a fresh trialist in goal as Jim looks for competition for Lenny Wilson however it was the forwards that caught the eye with the Balmoor boss saying: “The game was played in horrific conditions and Dundee North End deserve a lot of credit for the quality of their pitch. It helped up really well despite the rain that fell on it. It was only just before the end that puddles began to form on the top of the pitch so we were able to get a lot of work done.”

“We started with Isaac Layne and Ben Armour up front and Isaac chipped in with a couple of goals in the first half. We brought on Derek Lyle and Alan Cook at the break and they went on and played really well.”

“Both sets of front men were a handful and having them all available now gives me good options up front especially as Steven Boyd had another strong game up there as well.”

“Overall we had a lot of the ball, which was a very different game to the one we had against Dundee in midweek, and I was pleased with what we did with it. We got everything out of the game we had hoped.”

As well as the goalkeeping trialist three outfield players were also used in that capacity with Jim adding: “I will have discussions with them this week and discuss what the future holds.”
