Jim Butter has joined the Blue Toon as their Goalkeeping Coach after Scott Tait had to retire for family reasons. The former Montrose shot-stopping coach came in and worked with Peterhead manager Jim McInally when they played Dundee in a pre-season friendly and agreement has been reached for a longer stay.
Jim had a playing career that began with Blairgowrie Juniors, before playing senior with St Johnstone, Alloa Athletic, Queen of the South, Montrose, Brechin City, East Stirlingshire, Montrose and East Fife.
As well as coaching at Montrose Jim has worked at Arbroath, Lochee United and Alloa Athletic with Balmoor boss McInally saying: “It was unfortunate that Scott had to leave and I would like to thank him for everything he did for the club. I was pleased that Jim could step in. He helped out towards the end of pre-season and will now work with Joshua Rae and Lenny Wilson during training and on match days.”
“They are enjoying working with Jim and Jim is pleased to have the chance to work with two young and talented goalkeepers that he can help develop.”
