Peterhead face Clyde at Broadwood this afternoon with Balmoor manager Jim McInally unlikely to ‘spook’ opposing manager Danny Lennon with his team selection.
The Blue Toon will again be short-handed with possibly five players missing with Jim pointing out that even if he had everyone available he would not expect to pull the wool over Lennon’s eyes.
Jim explained: “The teams know each other well after coming up together from League 2 last year so it was unlikely, I could spring a surprise even with a full squad. I know their players well and as a result the game could come down to a moment of individual brilliance and both sides have players that can do that.”
“Meetings with Clyde are always competitive and one of the reasons for that is the surface at Broadwood, which is in my opinion is the best artificial surface in the league. It is as close to grass as you can get and hopefully, we can use that to pass the ball around. “
Jim added: “We have been unfortunate in our two league games so far. We have had times when we have been on top but not been able to score. We will look to change that. We do not have a lot of options available due to injuries however whilst personnel may not change, positions might.”
Injury News
Simon Ferry, Ben Armour, Josh Mulligan and Isaac Layne are all ruled out again for the Blue Toon. Gary Mackenzie was due to return after a head knock however an injury picked up in training this week now makes the defender a major doubt however Gary Fraser is added after a fortnight’s absence.
