Peterhead have been hit with another injury blow with striker Steven Boyd ruled out for the next two weeks at least after suffering a hamstring injury in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Clyde.
The former Hamilton Accies and East Fife striker has shone for the Blue Toon this season and scored the winner when they defeated Dundee United in the Betfred Cup last month and he joins Gary Mackenzie, Simon Ferry, Ben Armour, Josh Mulligan, Gary Fraser and Isaac Layne in having to sit out since this campaign started.
Manager Jim McInally said: “It is disappointing for us as a team and for Steven individually as he has been really good recently. He has always been a good player going forward however this season he has been fantastic in helping the team going back the way.”
“He played really well at Clyde where his work-rate set up our second goal however we will be without him for the next few weeks. We have had a run of injuries however a couple of boys may be back at the weekend and that would be good as we have not had more than a couple of players available as substitutes.”
