Peterhead will not find out the extent of the knee injury Gray Fraser suffered against Montrose recently until the end of next week due to delays caused by the Christmas period and Covid-19 procedures.
The 26-year-old landed awkwardly early into the 1-1 draw with the Gable Endies at Balmoor last Tuesday and visited hospital that night however a full examination will not be held until January 7.
Manager Jim McInally said: “I can understand the delays due to holidays and Covid however that does not make it any less frustrating for Gary or us. We are hoping it is a medial problem as opposed to the anterior cruciate and it would be good to get that confirmed.”
“We are in regular contact with Gary and he knows that everyone at the club is wishing him well.”
The results of Fraser’s consultation could see McInally’s plans for the January Transfer Window change as he said: “We are also missing Andrew McCarthy just now so we are light on midfielders. It could be that I have to strengthen in that area.”
