The enforced break in training and playing just now has enabled four Blue Toon players to get themselves closer to full fitness. Defender Gary Mackenzie, midfielder Andrew McCarthy and striking duo Isaac Layne and Ben Armour were all carrying knocks in January with manager Jim McInally thinking of only using them sparingly.
When football (hopefully) returns in the next few weeks all four will be injury free with McInally saying: “The chance for these players to ease up and get over their injuries is the only bright spot in the past few weeks. Some of them would have played with injuries and some would have missed games however they will all be good to go from the start of the first game back whenever that is.”
“It looks like it is going to be a very busy run-in to the season so we will need everyone in the squad to be as fit as possible.”
