The shutdown of League 1 by the Scottish FA has brought one piece of good news for Peterhead as defender Jason Brown will not miss a game despite breaking an arm.
Brown’s break was identified after the Blue Toon’s last outing when Jim McInally’s side lost 1-0 at Cove Rangers on January 2 and after being put in plaster for at least a month he looked set to miss an important part of the season.
With League 1 clubs hoping to resume in March, Brown will be plaster free and ready to restart with manager McInally saying: “I would much rather things were normal and we were playing every week but as well as having Jason back without missing a game we will have four players – Gary MacKenzie, Andrew McCarthy, Isaac Layne and Ben Armour – fully fit after niggling injuries.”
“It is a small consolation in amongst everything else.”
