Peterhead striker Isaac Layne has re-joined SPFL League 1 side Dumbarton on loan until the end of the season. The 25 year old former Alloa, Brechin City and Stranraer front-manĀ netted nine timesĀ for the Sons last season and Balmoor manager Jim McInally brought him north after being impressed in his games against the Blue Toon.
Isaac has netted three times for Peterhead with his last goal coming from the penalty spot in the 2-2 draw with Montrose just before Christmas and he will now seen this campaign out at Dumbarton after going straight into their manager Jim Duffy’s plans for tonight’s game at Falkirk.
Jim said: “I spoke to Isaac about not starting games due to the arrival of Niah Payne and Kieran McGrath as well as Derek Lyle returning to fitness and the growth seen in Derryn Kesson. We agreed that he would probably see more game time if he went somewhere on loan.”
“He enjoyed his year at Dumbarton so it made sense for him to go there.”
