Peterhead have risen into the top half of the table with two wins from two games since League 1 resumed however manager Jim McInally is adopting a safety-first approach when Clyde come calling tonight.
Jim said: “We have done well to defeat Airdrie and Dumbarton since football resumed and we are in sight of the first target I set the players this season. We are three points off the 22-point mark that I think will be the number required to avoid finishing bottom.”
“It would be great to get a win over Clyde and reach that mark. We would then have a bit of momentum for the rest of the season and see where it takes us. I am not ruling out a push for a promotion play-off place I just want to make sure that we take care of other issues first.”
“We are going into the game after a couple of good wins. I said before we went to Dumbarton that we would have to show a bit of quality in attack and defend well throughout the game to win. We did that and it was really pleasing as it is the type of tight game that we have lost in the past.”
Jim is wary of the Bully Wee as he added: “Clyde are coming here after a 2-2 draw at Montrose and any team that takes something from Links Park deserves your full respect. They have changed their line-up since we met them in October but they remain a very dangerous side in attack.”
