Peterhead boss Jim McInally has been advised that Dundee youngster Josh Mulligan will not be available to return to Balmoor for any of the club’s six remaining matches.
Mulligan joined the Blue Toon in October however he aggravated an ankle injury on his debut in a Betfred Cup tie against Dundee United at Tannadice and underwent surgery the following month.
The 18-year-old has returned to training with the Dark Blues earlier this year and Jim had hoped to have him available for the closing stages of the season but a thigh issue has now emerged and Mulligan has been ruled out for the rest of this campaign.
Jim said: “It is disappointing news as despite only having a handful of games left they are being played in a really short period so the more bodies that we have the better. It is also a shame for Josh as he has missed out on a full season and it would have been great to give him the experience that his Dundee team-mate Lyall Cameron got here before he was recalled.”
