Peterhead manager Jim McInally has not given up hope on striker Niah Payne returning to Balmoor for the new season. The 22 year old former Bradford City player impressed McInally during a short spell at the club during March and April and talks over an extended stay took place.
However it looked like the player’s base in the North of England would be a barrier however Jim is hopeful that a deal can be reached: “Niah has a young family and we had to find a way to ensure that he had the right balance in his life. We have never stopped talking and whilst other players moved on he continued to say that he wanted to play for Peterhead.”
“We are hopeful that something can get sorted soon that will allow Niah to join us for pre-season training and stay for the new campaign.”
