Significant Payne will be worth it

Striker Niah Payne has agreed to return to Peterhead for next season with Balmoor manager Jim McInally delighted that Blue Toon fans will see the best of the 22 year old.

One-time Bradford City attacker Payne played in 11 games for Peterhead last season and was just beginning to show what he was capable of when League 1 ended.

After a summer of discussions Niah agreed to return and has been training with the rest of the squad this week and the paperwork to continue his career has been agreed pending Scottish FA approval.

Jim said: “I believe that re-signing Niah will be significant for Peterhead. He was showing his potential towards the end of last season and he looks sharp in training as well. He wanted to come back to Peterhead and whilst discussions have taken a bit of time he is back.”

“He has a young family in Yorkshire but has come up with a way to play for us and keep family life good for him. He has a great attitude to the game and we will see a lot of good stuff from him this season.”
