Peterhead drew 1-1 with Forfar Athletic last night in a closed door game in Dundee. The match was arranged after both teams saw their games called off at the weekend with Blue Toon boss Jim McInally opting to start off with a strong side and finish with a very young side.
The Loons opened the scoring 15 minutes from time with Russell McLean netting an equaliser two minutes form time when his 16 yard shot was deflected into goal.
Jim said afterwards: “It was a great workout for us against a Forfar side who have brought in a lot of new players since we faced them last season. It was just what we were needing after the Turriff game was called off.”
“I started with quite a strong side however towards the end we were very young as we had a number of trialists on. In fact we looked more like Peterhead Boys Club than Peterhead!”
