Cup-tie costs two players – one from each side ironically

Aug 13, 2021

Tuesday’s night’s 2-1 SPFL Trust Trophy win over Dundee’s B side has come at a price with two players ruled out of tomorrow’s trip to Montrose after picking up knocks.

Derryn Kesson, who had to be substituted by goalkeeper Brett Long after suffering a thigh problem with manager Jim McInally also advising that on-loan Dens Park player Lyall Cameron is out after being injured playing against his Balmoor team-mates.

Jim said: “Irony has certainly raised its face this week. It is ironic that Derryn has picked up a problem after having his best performance for us. He was doing really well against Dundee’s youngsters before having to come off.”

“Lyall is probably beyond ironic but hopefully he will not be out too long. They were both in my plans for Montrose but I will need to redraw them now.”
