Peterhead v East Fife
Manager’s preview –
Peterhead manager Jim McInally is hoping his side ‘catch a break’ against an East Fife side that have seen off the Blue Toon twice this season when the sides meet this afternoon.
The Fifers handed out a 3-0 defeat when McInally’s men visited in August and then progressed in the SPFL Trust Trophy the following month with a 1-0 success with Jim believing that his side deserved better in both games.
Jim said: “We have been on the wrong end of two results against East Fife so far and we certainly do not want it to be come three. In those games we have been really unfortunate and, in my opinion, they are both games we could have won.”
“In the first half at Bayview we were outstanding and played some great football without scoring. We hit the woodwork several times and not being ahead at the break came back to hurt us as East Fife scored just after the break.”

“We played our way back into things but then gave away a penalty and we just knew then that it was not going to be our day.”
Jim added: “In the cup-tie we gave away a soft goal early on but in the second half we created chances and deserved to get level at least. These games are in the past now but it would be nice to think that in our third meeting we will get a break.”

Darren Young was in charge of East Fife in those meetings however former Scotland striker Stevie Crawford is the manager now with Jim adding: “East Fife will be a different side this time out as Stevie will be trying to do his own thing there. When he was at Dunfermline, he had his own way of playing and he will be looking to implement that with his new side.”
“No matter how they play we need to ensure we come out on top this time.”
“It is our last home game before Christmas and I am looking forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces. Hopefully we can send them into the festive season happy.”
