Peterhead’s first training session of the week was a quieter than normal affair on Tuesday night with manager Jim McInally having to wrestle with a number of injury concerns in the lead up to Saturday’s game with Dumbarton.
Simon Ferry and Andy McCarthy both missed out as a result of the knocks received in Saturday’s 1-1 draw with East Fife with Jim already ruling out both players for the weekend. Jason Brown and Scott Brown both sat the session out due to niggling concerns and David Wilson was unable to complete the session after a hip problem flared up.

With Gary Fraser, Ryan Conroy and Alan Cook remaining out the Blue Toon’s resources are stretched however Jim was pleased to advise that Derek Lyle is available again after an ankle problem.
Jim said: “It was a much quieter session than normal. Jason and Scott very, very rarely miss training sessions so we know we are a bit light on numbers when they can not make it. The remaining boys came in and worked hard so we will not be trying to sell any hard luck stories.”
“Simon and Andy will be out for a few weeks and David is a major doubt for the weekend as well. Hopefully the night off for Jason and Scott will help them make it but they are also in the doubtful category. I spoke recently about the strength of our substitute bench and all Saturday will be is an opportunity for people to show that we are right in believing we have some strength in depth.”
