Dumbarton v Peterhead
Manager’s preview –
Peterhead have been hit with a glut of injury problems ahead of their trip to a Dumbarton side they sit one point ahead of in the League 1 table however manager Jim McInally is not for wallowing.
Defender David Wilson will not make it after picking up an injury at training in midweek with midfield pair Andrew McCarthy and Simon Ferry are out as a result of the injuries they suffered in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with East Fife.
Another blow was felt yesterday when the goalscorer against the Fifers, on-loan Aberdeen attacker Ryan Duncan, was ruled out with a hamstring problem.
Gary Fraser underwent his long waited for surgery on Thursday and he remains on the side-lines along with Ryan Conroy and Alan Cook.
Jim however is being positive as he said: “We were very low on bodies against Queen’s Park last month and we came from behind to win that game. There is no point in being dragged down by absences we will just get on with it.”
“Jason Brown and Scott Brown are available, which is good as at one stage this week they were struggling, and we have Derek Lyle back. We also have some players who want to stake a claim to be starting every week so they have that chance.”

“Therefore, we will go to Dumbarton and look to pick up the three points.”
The last time the sides met Peterhead enjoyed a 5-0 success with Jim saying: “That was a great result for us and at the time it was a bit of a surprising score-line as Dumbarton were sitting very high in the table.”

“They started the season really well and whilst recent results have not been as good there is a lot of capability in their squad. We had them watched last weekend against Montrose and that game mirrored their season in that they started really well and were winning before being overtaken.”
“It will be a difficult game to win as Dumbarton will be looking to hit back after losing at home last weekend but we will be up for the challenge.”
Team news –
David Wilson, Andrew McCarthy, Simon Ferry and Ryan Duncan have joined Gary Fraser, Ryan Conroy and Alan Cook on the side-lines however Jason Brown and Scott Brown have recovered from knocks and will be involved with striker Derek Lyle also available after an ankle problem.
