Andrew McCarthy fit to face Queen’s

Jan 6, 2022

Peterhead midfielder Andrew McCarthy is in manager Jim McInally’s plans for Saturday’s trip to Firhill to face Queen’s Park despite suffering a facial injury at the weekend.

The 23 year old sustained a blow to his nose and his cheekbone in Sunday’s clash with Cove Rangers however he will face the Spiders despite his ‘war wounds’ now showing.

Jim said: “It was good to have Andrew playing again at the weekend after a period out injured. I thought he played well and it was good to see him playing on after the knock to his face.”

“There is some bruising there now but his eye has not closed up and thankfully nothing appears to be broken. He is the type of player who gets involved in challenges and that shows at the moment.”
