David Wilson boost for the Blue Toon

Peterhead defender David Wilson is ready to return to action after a month out injured with Balmoor manager Jim McInally delighted with the timing of his availability.

The former Elgin City player joined the Blue Toon in September and quickly established himself in the starting XI and had featured in 11 games with his last appearance being in the 1-1 draw with East Fife on December 11.

However the 21 year old suffered a hip problem in training just a few days after that game and has been on the side-lines ever since with Jim saying: “David’s return is very timely as Jason Brown is suspended for our next game. If the Queen’s Park match had gone ahead on Saturday there would have been an element of risk involved in playing David however that risk is greatly reduced with him having an extra week’s training under his belt.”

“We are hoping that Flynn Duffy will be available again as well so whilst we are still hit hard by injuries it is not as bad as it has been.”
