Gary Fraser up and running by end of the month

Jan 18, 2022

Peterhead midfielder Gary Fraser popped up to training last week for the first time since his knee surgery in December with Balmoor boss Jim McInally expecting to see a lot more of the 27 year old soon.

Fraser has been out of action since just before Christmas 2020 and a very successful fund-raising programme, which included Jim auctioning off his Dundee United 1987 UEFA Cup Final jersey and player/ coach Simon Ferry doing likewise with a promotion winning Swindon top, as well a Just Giving page, raised funds for a private operation.

With surgery now complete the former Partick Thistle midfielder is now concentrating on making a playing return with his manager saying: “Gary came up last week to start his rehabilitation work with the club. It was great to see him as he is a big part of Peterhead Football Club and I have to say that he is in very good shape.”

“Despite not being able to do any work with his knee Gary has worked hard on keeping himself in trim. He has kept himself busy working with https://backonside.co.uk/ and the next stage for him is to start running again and starting to prepare for playing football.”

“We would like to think that he could start running by the end of this month.”

Jim added: “Again we would like to pass on our thanks to everyone who has supported Gary in the past year.”
