Peterhead received another injury boost this week with the welcome return to training of the versatile Alan Cook. Earlier this week it was announced that team-mate Gary Fraser is scheduled to up his rehabilitation work from knee surgery later this month and now Cook is also on the comeback trial.
‘Cookie’ joined the Blue Toon two years ago from Stenhousemuir and he has had stop/ start time due to the stress fracture in his shin. Wearing a protective boot allowed Cook to return to playing at the start of this season however that was only short-term with his last outing being in mid-September.

Manager Jim McInally said: “Alan has given his injury a good rest and everyone is hoping that it is gone. It was great to have him training again however he is a few weeks away from being back in competitive action.”
“Both Alan and Gary are experienced players and big figures in our squad so things will be a bit nosier at training and games soon and that is good news.”
