Peterhead are out to complete a hat-trick of wins over Alloa this season when the sides meet at Balmoor however Blue Toon manager Jim McInally is wary of the Wasps.
Jim said: “We got our league season off to a great start with a 2-0 win over Alloa and then came from behind to win 4-2 at their place. In both of those games our performance levels were really high and we need that again in this game.”
“We had Alloa watched last weekend at Clyde and they were right in the game until a couple of minutes from time when they lost a second goal. Even after that they came back into things and grabbed one back.”
“They have a lot of experienced players and the feeling afterwards was that they are just one win away from turning their season around. We have to ensure that we work as hard as we did in our other games against them to make sure that win does not come at our place.”
Jim, who is starting a touchline ban this afternoon, will have to, once more, recast his side due to injuries however he is pleased to have options available after having a thread bare squad at other times this season.
The Peterhead fans may get a first glimpse of new signings Owen Cairns, Rico Quitongo and Jack Brown at Balmoor as Jim explained: “We have lost Simon Ferry from our starting line-up and it looks like Grant Savoury will miss out as well so that is at least two changes from East Fife last weekend. Scott Brown has felt a reaction after training this week so we are unlikely to risk him however we made signings in January who will be given a chance at this club and this game may be the day to do that.”

There are also some more familiar faces available as Jim added: “We have Alan Cook and Ryan Conroy available for selection again after injury so I have choices to make which is a good position to be in especially as we can use five substitutes again.”

Team news – Former Rothes attacker Jack Brown could be handed a starting role as Grant Savoury is a major doubt. Skipper Scott Brown is still affected by an ankle injury and player/coach Simon Ferry had already been ruled out with a back injury.
Gary Fraser is still working his way back to fitness after knee surgery however Alan Cook and Ryan Conroy are available again after spells on the side-lines. Andrew McCarthy, Hamish Ritchie and Russell McLean have shaken off the knocks they picked up in Fife last weekend and are available for selection.
