Peterhead defender David Wilson has been ruled out for the rest of the season after chipping a bone in his foot. The 21-year-old former Elgin City player joined the Blue Toon last September and quickly established himself in manager Jim McInally’s starting XI and he went on to make 15 appearances with his last outing coming against Alloa at the beginning of February.

Wilson picked up the injury shortly afterwards and tests have now confirmed the full extent with Balmoor boss McInally saying: “It is disappointing news for both us and David. He made a huge contribution to his career by paying his own development fee to Elgin in order that he could join us so it is a shame he misses any football at all.”
“David played at right back, centre half and in a defensive three for us so we will miss his versatility.”
