Peterhead consider appeal against McDonald dismissal

Peterhead are set to appeal against the straight red card that was shown to defender Andy McDonald at Alloa on Saturday. McDonald was dismissed in injury time after a sliding challenge on Ross McIver however the Blue Toon believe that the stopper played the ball and Alloa have agreed to supply video evidence of the challenge should the appeal go ahead.

Manager Jim McInally said: “It was so late in the game that it did not have a huge influence on the result however I thought at the time it was an incorrect decision. It would probably carry a two game suspension so it is a hefty punishment.”

“The Alloa manager Brian Rice said afterwards that he felt that Andy played the ball first and that if we wanted to appeal he would ensure that we got any video evidence there is to back it. We will look into what is involved on Monday and take things from there.”
