Wilson back up and running

Peterhead defender David Wilson will be fit for the start of next season with manager Jim McInally expecting the former Elgin City man to be one of the fittest around when the Blue Toon players return to pre-season training later this month.

Wilson joined the Balmoor side last September and had become a regular starter before a chipped foot bone saw him miss the last three months of the season.

The 22-year-old had to wear a protective boot however that is long gone with Jim saying: “David was back in light training in the closing stages of last season and he has continued working since then. There should be no issues for him getting straight back to work and that is good news for everyone.”

Jim spent part of last week speaking to potential new recruits as he looks to rebuild the Peterhead squad and he said: “I have signed three new players already and I spoke in-depth to three players I rate highly last week about playing for Peterhead. They would add strength and quality to our pool and it is a case of wait and see now.”
