Peterhead boss lands second big fish

Peterhead manager Jim McInally has confirmed that he has reached agreement with a second experienced player to join the Blue Toon for next season with his identity due to be revealed next week when his contract with his existing full time club comes to an end.

Jim advised at the end of May that one player with over 300 senior games under his belt would be coming on board as soon as a minor issue over his availability was ironed out and a second seasoned operator will now be in his ranks for the new campaign.

The Balmoor boss said: “The player involved called me earlier this week and told me to get the paperwork sorted out as he wanted to join us. He is still under contract at another club so we will formally announce his signing once we have him registered once that expires.”

“He has played nearly 500 games in his career, which has been spent in both Scotland and England, and he has also represented his country at an international level. Last season we had at times a very young squad and were looking for experience so I am delighted with the people I am bringing in to help with that.”
