Blue Toon manager Jim McInally `was able to cast his eye over a plethora of trialists as he fielded almost two different teams in an encounter that saw Jack Brown, Jordan Brown and Hamish Ritchie find the net with Andy McCarthy also scoring with a fine diving header.

New recruit Ryan Dow played for the second half however fellow new boy Ryan Strachan was restricted to some light training with Jim saying: “It was a good workout and it was good to get the newly signed boys out onto the pitch for the first time. I was also able to have a look at a few boys that have been training with us, and others that I was seeing for the first time.”

“Robbie McGale showed that he can create danger from the right back position and it was from his delightful cross that Andy scored from. Hopefully, that is the first of many assists for Robbie.”

“Robbie, Hamish and one other player who was a trialist but has played for us before, and will hopefully sign again, played for the full game. Some of the trialists will come with us to Elgin this weekend when things will step up with two games in two days.”

“It was a worthwhile exercise as a number of the boys that played against us also impressed, especially a goalkeeper who came out and claimed every corner. I will be keeping an eye on them as well as they are playing a couple of other games up in Scotland.”
