Peterhead manager Jim McInally’s policy of spreading his recruitment net far and wide has landed another catch with Egyptian midfielder Ramez Hefzalla agreeing to join the Blue Toon on a short term deal. The 18 year old was born in England to an Egyptian father and a Moroccan mother and was asked to represent both countries of his parents’ birth before opting to join the Egyptian under-20 team earlier this year. Hefzalla is a product of the Youth system at English Championship side Millwall and is joining the Blue Toon following his release from the London club with manager McInally saying: “Ramez is a very gifted player technically who has great skill and has the potential to entertain our fans. It really is a win-win situation for both parties as we are getting the opportunity to use a player that we would potentially not have found had we gone down the traditional recruitment routes and Ramez is getting the chance to show what he can do in a first team environment.”
