Ugandan defender Enock Walusimbi is showing why Peterhead manager Jim McInally brought him to the club on the training pitch with the Blue Toon boss looking forward to the 23-year-old doing so on the pitch as well.
Enock signed for the Balmoor club 12 days ago and has impressed manager McInally when the squad have gathered ever since as Jim explained: “We had a bounce game in training this week and the poise and composure Enock possesses shone through.”
“First and foremost, he is a good defender, but he is also very comfortable on the ball. He will bring a solidity and a calmness to our team as soon as we can get him onto the pitch.”
Peterhead face Kelty Hearts on Saturday and Walusimbi may have to watch this one from the side-lines with Jim saying: “We took two steps forward recently with Enock signing his contract and overcoming the first hurdle in terms of the paperwork required to get him cleared to play. My thanks go to everyone at the club and outside of the club who helped with this.”
“That has allowed us to apply for the final piece of paperwork that is required.”
