On-loan Queen’s player Park Max Gillies will miss out when Peterhead host Kelty Hearts on League 1 business tomorrow after receiving a ‘blow to the face’ in training this week from a ball.
“All being well he will be back with us for our game against Elgin next Saturday.”
The 19-year-old, who has grabbed two goals for the Blue Toon this season from a defensive role, was hit by a wayward shot full on during a training session and whilst there was no immediate cause for concern Max attended hospital later on the day.
Peterhead, in conjunction with his parent club, are following the protocols to be observed following such an injury with Max expected to return to training at the end of next week.
Balmoor manager Jim McInally said: “It will be disappointing to be without Max as he has done well for us this season. He is a hardy boy and at first felt that he was okay but after showing some symptoms he was checked out fully.”
