The Blue Toon boss has seen enough in the club’s last three league outings to be pleased with progress in terms of tactics and application however with six players (on top of ten already ruled out) reporting as doubts during a Friday roll-call manager McInally will only ink names on the team-sheet after fitness tests today.
Jim said: “The situation is, what the situation is, and we will just get on with it. I usually like to have things settled long before kick-off however that will not be the case for this game but there is no point in being negative about it. We will be positive as we have given ourselves a platform to build on with our performances against Kelty Hearts, Dunfermline and FC Edinburgh. We have adopted a shape that the players are playing well in so we will stick to that. There is good news as well as we have managed to sign a new face in Julien Carre and if he shows on the pitch what he has shown in training then I am sure that our fans will enjoy his time with us.”
Jim added: “The midweek game at Meadowbank was disappointing in terms of losing a late goal from a breakaway just when it looked like it would be goalless and we would take a deserved point. With it being on a Wednesday it looks like it could cost us some players as they have not had enough time to recover however, we competed well against a team riding high just a few days after coming from two goals down against a full-time side.”
“We showed that we can take confidence from those displays into the Falkirk game. They are a good side who will not be far away from top spot come the end of the season so this game will be a challenge. However, we are showing that we are up for challenges and the players will be asked to show that again.”

New signing midfielder Julien Carre could make a quick-fire debut with Michael Hewitt set to make his home bow as well. The documentation to allow Enock Walusimbi and Loran Venrooy to feature is not yet in place with injuries ruling out Robbie McGale, David Wilson, Jack Wilkie, Ewan Murray, Andrew McCarthy, Hamish Ritchie, Russell McLean and Ola Adeyemo.
The absentee list could grow further with doubts over Paul Dixon, Christiano Kisuka and Conor O’Keefe who missed out in midweek as well as Ryan Strachan, Ryan Dow and Jack Brown who all picked up knocks in the game against FC Edinburgh.
