All at Peterhead FC are very sad to hear of the passing away of former player Frank Krukowski. Frank was the hard-tackling, super-fit midfield lynchpin of a very successful Peterhead side for 8 years in the late 70s and early 80s.
From Natty Porter: “Frank was a key figure in Colin Grant`s team which brought a revival to the Club and that side became a top Highland League team constantly challenging for honours. Along with his great mate and sidekick Willie Lawson, they were stalwarts and very loyal to the Club. Many of his team mates and indeed his opponents would rate Frank as the hardest player in the Highland League during this period although Frank would remind them of his 30 yard `wonder` goal in the 82-83 League Cup Final against Elgin at Kynoch Park. I promised him I would get that bit in!”
“He was up to a few games in the past couple of seasons and whilst his health was deteriorating he retained his razor sharp humour and was an extremely popular figure”.
A great player, great team mate and a great man. Our thoughts are with Debbie and the family at this time. Frank will be very sorely missed.
