They said, “We’ve spoken to the players and it’s important they impose our own style on the game and want to make a difference, there’s nine points available over the next eight to nine days!
“We aren’t looking past Edinburgh just now and it’ll be a tough game for us but we need a result to give us that lease of life and give the concrete improvements some evidence that we’ve been talking about. Edinburgh have been near the top of the league and challenging so they are a good side and they’ll still fancy the play-offs.
“They mean nothing without points on the board, we believe we can win games and we aim to make Balmoor that difficult place that everyone knows it is.
“We have four home games left that start Saturday and we need to be in a position after this next week where we’re challenging Clyde.
“The message of ‘talk is cheap, let’s get to work’ has been there for the last five training sessions, we’ve always spoken to the group after every session and actions do speak louder than words. There’s been an improvement in intensity and we’re trying to impose a new style and tactic into the group.
“We’ve also altered the formation slightly but ultimately we’ve lost two games, you can argue we’ve been competitive in both games but we’ve fallen short and we now need results, it’s about being competitive still but also getting results.
“Everyone’s fully aware of the games we have left, even after the defeat last weekend, the focus has been on this game coming up, we owe everyone at the club and we aren’t letting the season filter out. We want to show that passion and desire that’s been shown in the last few weeks. It’s been a long time since we took the lead in a game or held onto one in a game that’s sustainable but it needs to happen now.”
Current Peterhead captain Jason Brown is hoping the supporters come out in their numbers again this week as we get set to take on Edinburgh and the Pars at home.
He said, “Everyone knows my love for Peterhead and what it means to be a local boy playing for a massive club like this, I know what people think of the club and it’s a pleasure to play for the Blue Toon every time I put on the jersey.
“It’s been a frustrating season and defeats have hurt me, people around the club, and the fans, we have all got a spring in the step over the last couple of weeks. You need to give everything when you cross that white line and play for Peterhead.
“It’s a massive privilege for me to captain Peterhead, Ryan, and Jordon have been good since doing the management, it’s not been easy as they’re trying to concentrate on playing as well as sorting out players, bus times and training times and a team to try and get results on a Saturday. The team is behind Ryan and Jordon, my role is to be an example to the younger players.
“The fans have been great this season, we had a loyal following at QOTS last weekend, we want to reward them in the next couple of weeks and we are looking forward, Balmoor is a fortress and we owe it to them to get results, and performances, they continue to support us and that’s why i’m so passionate about the club because of the loyal fanbase we have and they will give us a push.”
