Current joint caretaker managers Jordon Brown and Ryan Strachan know the task in hand tomorrow when Clyde visit Balmoor. They’ve both been in big occasions as players and are fully committed in trying to salvage something that will give us hope heading into the final two matches away to Kelty and home to Falkirk.
They said, “There’s no second chances after Saturday, last Saturday’s defeat to Montrose was a bit deflating but we can’t underestimate the effort put into last week playing three games as a part-time team, we’ve had two sessions again this week and put a bit of fun into it and re-energised the boys and we’ll select the best 11 players that can put everything on the line for the club.”
“We’ve seen the positivity in training and on Saturdays and unfortunately it hasn’t reflected in the results yet, the positivity and intensity in training and games has been good but we’ve fallen short on results so far and that’s the most disappointing thing.”
“We’ve got to look at winning tomorrow and trying to change the mentality again and building into the final two matches, nobody wants to play meaningless matches and we’ll be doing everything to make sure they aren’t meaningless games.
“We don’t want a dirty 1-0 win, it would be great but we want a performance that is convincing as it would set us in a better position for the last two games, it would cast a bit of doubt in people’s minds including for Clyde and bring the gap back to two. A significant victory would set us in a good frame of mind heading into the final two games but we need to take care of tomorrow first and try to get the win.”
“When we score a goal we want to get two and three afterwards, goals are key and we have confidence in the defence as well, they’ve shown they can keep clean sheets.”
“It’s a huge game for everybody, the starting XI, subs, us as a management team, backroom staff and everyone at the club, we need to show and demonstrate our experience. We need to be loud, vocal and comfortable on the ball, create chances, and try to win the game comfortably.”
“The players are focused on getting the result, the fans have been behind us since we’ve been in this position and we fully appreciate that.”
On-loan Dundee full-back Jack Wilkie wasted no time looking ahead to tomorrow by saying, “It’s must-win! There’s no getting around it, we need to win and there’s no getting away from it, if we play well but draw then it doesn’t matter really.”
“We need to get them points on the board, I’ve spoken to boys at Dundee and they’ve said it’s going to be a different experience for me, I’ve got to try and turn this into a positive to try and give us that win.”
“I don’t shy away from trying to speak out in front of boys because I want to help the team a lot, it’s been frustrating but I’ll try and lead by example to get us that result.”
“I’ve experienced winning here this season and what a feeling it is, I applaud the fans after the games as the support they’ve given me hasn’t gone unnoticed, I will try everything to give them something to enjoy.”
