Peterhead v Falkirk preview

May 5, 2023

Co-Managers Ryan Strachan and Jordon Brown have challenged the players to end the season on a high when they host Falkirk tomorrow afternoon, frustration from last weekend has been turned into a positive as both Strachan and Brown have started the hard work for next campaign with the duo keen to rectify what has been an under-par season.

With fan favourites Jason Brown and Danny Strachan tied up on long-term contracts this week, that will be the building blocks for a busy summer ahead which will gather more priority and momentum after the final furlong at Balmoor tomorrow.

They said, “It’s about going out on a high and giving the supporters something they deserve, hopefully we get a good performance and finish on a positive by trying to get a result. We’ll look to get the players up for the game as it’s what the fans deserve who have come out and been brilliant across the whole season.

“Saturday is key that we finish well, some of the lads are wounded so we might protect them a little bit but we need to finish in style as it’s been a turbulent season and hopefully they can have a good day and night afterwards.”

“We’ve put the foundations across since we’ve been in charge and we fundamentally expect standards and expect quality and to outwork the opposition and we’ll look to make sure that’s the case on Saturday. Then after Saturday, it’s a case of full steam ahead and looking to get this club back on the up again.”

“The hard work started weeks ago for us, our bodies are tired as players but the next six weeks to three months will be high volume for us as co-managers, we hope to be sitting in a month’s time with a good squad ready for pre-season.”

For winger Conor O’Keefe, he was delighted to make his first start on his return from injury at Kelty last weekend despite the final outcome.

He said, “It’s very important we end the season strong, the fans have been with us from the start and it’s been a tough time for them due to how the season’s panned out so it would be good to end on a positive note for them.”

“I am delighted to be finally back, it was my first start in nearly seven months last weekend, I am still not at top fitness level yet but getting there every week prior to next season, the close season will be ideal to get some extra work in.”

“We are preparing for a big year coming up now Ryan and Jordon have been confirmed for the job, we want a good performance tomorrow before having a break, the team spirit is still good despite last week, I think the fans would agree that the performances have been better recently. We just had no luck in front of goal and sometimes you’ve to put games to bed but we are all focused on ending the season on a high.”
