Peterhead 1-0 Forfar
Peterhead impressed to pick up their first League 1 victory and end Forfar’s winning start.
Jack Leitch’s header early in the second half was the difference between the sides, although the Blue Toon could have won by more.
It was exactly what Jim McInally’s team needed after throwing away a two-goal lead against Dumbarton.
The Balmoor manager selected the same defence as last week but a key change saw Jason Brown and Cammy Eadie swap positions and the latter’s switch to right-back was crucial.
Not only did Eadie look assured, the former Elgin man provided the assist for the winner, crossing for Leitch who sent a six yard header beyond Marc McCallum in the 48th minute.
Rory McAllister was deemed fit enough to start and he led the line in fine fashion, causing the visiting defence all sorts of problems in both halves.
McAllister was involved when Peterhead should have made the points safe in the 71st minute.
The Blue Toon skipper played in Aidan Smith but from 10 yards he could not beat McCallum, who then somehow denied Scott Brown and Leitch in an incredible triple save.
Prior to that, Forfar had one big chance which fell the way of Jordan Kirkpatrick but he sent his free header past the post as Peterhead saw out the game well to claim all three points.
